Economic and Technology Evaluation of Synthetic Natural Gas

Major process technology of synthetic natural gas （SNG） is presented. Market demand and production costs are analyzed and the results show that SNG has price-advantage over imported SNG, LPG and follow-up LNG. Using life cycle assessment, carbon emission and energy efficiency of SNG production are evaluated, results show Coal-Gen is a more energy efficient method compared to SNG. More attention should be focused on One-Step Process of SNG, thus total energy efficiency of SNG will be competitive with other technology.
