The Destiny of the Princess in the Tang Dynasty for the Marriage to the Minority and the Ethnic Relationship from the Perspective of Tang Poems

唐代和亲诗创作丰富,既反映了人们对和亲政策的思考,也反映了人们对和亲公主命运的深切关怀。和亲公主们的命运与大唐国力息息相关,是当时民族关系的晴雨表:国力上升期的初唐、盛唐的和亲公主们,基本上保持了被尊崇的地位,反映出的民族关系相对融洽;而中晚唐时期的和亲公主们则命运多舛,其时的民族关系较为紧张。

In the Tang Dynasty, there appeared a large number of poems related to marriage to the minorities at that time, which reflected people＇s thinking on the policy about the marriage to the minorities to keep the close harmonious relationship with them and their deep concern about the future of the princess getting married there. The fate of the princess was closely connected with the power of the prosperous Tang Dynasty. It was also a barometer of the national relationship. The princesses getting married to the minorities at the beginning of Tang when the dynasty was rising up and in the middle of Tang when it was prosperous was basically kept in the exalted position, which reflected the relatively harmonious national relation. However, after that time when the ethnic relationship became a bit tension, their fate was changed into an opposite orientation.
