徐光宪:中国理论化学的奠基人之一

Xu Gungxian: A Founder of China's Theoretical Chemistry

徐光宪院士是我国著名化学家,是2008年国家最高科学技术奖获得者。他不仅在理论化学领域成就卓著,在应用化学领域也成绩斐然,他提出的稀土串级萃取理论使我国稀土分离技术达到世界领先水平,他编写的《物质结构》教材风靡全国数十年,将众多学子领进理论化学的殿堂,1988年荣获了国家教委颁发的"高等学校优秀教材"特等奖。徐光宪在其60余年的科学研究和教学生涯中,取得一批重要科研成果的同时培养了一大批优秀人才。他和我国著名化学家唐敖庆院士一道为发展我国理论化学做出了重要贡献,他俩之间的深沉真挚的友谊在中国学术界传为永远的佳话。

Academician Xu Guangxian, the winner of the National Pre-eminent Science and Technology Award in 2008, is a famous chemist in China. He has made great achievements not only in the field of theoretical chemistry, but also in applied chemistry. The theory of rare-earth counter-current extraction he put forward has enhanced China＇s technology for separating rare earth to the leading level in the world. The book Structure of Matter he compiled is popular in China for decades and has guided numerous students into the palace of theoretical chemistry. What＇s more, this book was awarded the ＂Special Grade for Excellent Teaching Material of High School＂ by the State Education Commission in1988. In his over six decades＇ career of scientific research and teaching, Xu Guangxian has got a number of important scientific research achievements and nurtured many excellent students. Together with Tang Aoqing, another famous chemist in China, he has made significant contribution to the development of the theoretical chemistry for China. The deep friendship between them becomes an everlasting tale in the Chinese academic circle.
