The Image of Zhejiang Merchants in the Novels of the Ming and the Qing Dynasties

明清时期随着资本主义萌芽的出现,地理位置得天独厚的浙江一带,商品经济的飞速发展滋生了城市和商业文化,明清小说中的浙江商人形象,即是这一情形的反映。这些商人的商业活动、精神特质、生存状态不仅体现了较为鲜明的地域特质,也生动展现了彼时浙江工商业社会环境和文化状况。

There are many Zhejiang merchants in the novels of the Ming and the Qing Dynasties, which reflects relative prosperity of commodity economy in Zhejiang at that time. This paper summarizes these merchants ＇ commercial activities, typical characteristics and living conditions and attempts a literary investigation of Zhejiang ＇s business environment, economic development, and Zhejiang merchants＇ regional characteristics during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
