永泰古城位于甘肃省景泰县境内，整个城池形状酷似乌龟，故名“龟城”。明清两朝，这里曾经是一座显赫的军事要塞，这里因为战争而兴起，又因为自然环境的改变而衰落。
Yongtai Old Town is located in Jingtai, a county in northwestern China＇s Gansu Province. It is called ＂tortoise town＂ because of the tortoise-shape of the town. Yongtai Old Town was once an important military fortress, which was used to defend against Mongolian aggressors. That was during the Ming Dynasty （1368-1644）; since then, the town＇s prosperity has waned, and water and soil erosion has resulted in the degradation of the town＇s environment.
