In the late nineteenth century, the Irish autonomous movement guided by ParneU has deeply shaken English and Irish peoples. In the beginning, the movement was potent under the guidance of Parnell＇ s radical strategies, successfully forcing the British government to admit its autonomy. However, Parnell started to trust the British government, and forfeited the radical strategies, lie strived to achieve Ireland＇ s autonomy through constitutlonalism by cooperating with the British government. Nevertheless the momentum of the movement declined and finally failed, which not only deteriorated the relationships between Irish and English peoples, but also affected the direction of Irish civilization.
