Objective: To evaluate the application of laser doppler in assessing microvascular vasomotion of STZ-induced diabetic mice. Methods: 20 BALB/c mice were randomly divided into diabetic group (n=10) and control group (n=10). Diabetic mice were in- duced with 40 mg/kg STZ for 5 consecutive days. Cutaneous blood perfusion was determined by Moor LDLS, while pancreatic blood perfusion and micro-vessels vasomotion were detected by Moor VMS. Results: Compared with control group, the cutaneous blood perfusion and total flux (P=0.009) was decreased, and the frequency and amplitude of vasomotion of pancreatic micro-vessels was also decreased in diabetic mice (P〈0.001, P〈0.001, respectively). Conclusion: Combined Moor LDLS and Moor VMS-LDF might be an applicable method to evaluate microvascular vasomotion of diabetic mice.
