现代性的时空图景

The Space-time Picture of Modernity

文章旨在通过与传统社会相对照,分别从时、空两个维度粗线条地勾勒出现代性的轮廓。从时间的维度来考察现代性,其最大的特征就是"变"。现代性所推动的变化主要体现在社会结构、器物以及人们的观念这三个方面。从空间维度上来看,现代性以排山倒海般的力量创造了"通"的奇迹。在扫除了空间障碍之后,如何处理平等与差异问题成了现代性亟待解决的问题之一。

This paper aims to outline the modernity from two dimensions of time and space. Examining modernity from the dimension of time, we find that the most obvious feature is ＂change＂ ;changes driven by modernity are mainly em- bodied in three aspects ： the social structure, material, and the idea of people. Examining modernity from the dimension of space, we find that with the momentum of avalanche because modernity created the miracle of ＂pass＂. After clearing the barriers in space, how to deal with the problem of equality and differences becomes more and more urgent.
