《大学杂志》与台湾20世纪70年代初的革新与偏安之争

On Dispute between “University Journal”and the Taiwan Reform and Stability in the Early 1970's

如何处理发展、改革与稳定三者的关系,是每个社会在从传统向现代转型过程中都要面对的问题。20世纪70年代初,随着国际局势和台湾政治环境的变化,以及青年的觉醒,台湾地区出现的一场"开放学生运动"与"一个小市民的心声"的论争,就集中地展现了当时台湾社会的两种典型声音:一派主张调动民气推进改革,一派主张珍惜安定环境,宁可牺牲部分自由权利。这场论争实际上是台湾社会各群体在时代转捩点上对处理改革、发展与稳定之间关系的一次思想交锋。这场论争虽在当局压力下平息,大规模的激进社会运动却开始酝酿和爆发。

How to handle the relationship between reform, development and stability is a kind of problem that every society must face in the process of transition from traditional to modern one. In the early 1970＇s, with the changes in the international situation and the Taiwan political environment as well as the youth＇s awakening, there came a debate in Taiwan between the ＂open student movement＂ and ＂a citizen＇s voice＂ which embodied a concentrated reflection of two typical voices in Taiwan So- ciety at that time： to call people for deepening the reform and to cherish the stable environment at the cost of their freedom. This debate is, in fact, a confrontation of ideas on handling of the relationship between reform, development and stability by the social groups in Taiwan at the turning point of the era. Although the dispute was eased under the pressure of the authorities, the large-scale radical social movements began brewing and broke out.
