Effects of short hot stress stimulated(daily high temperature 30 ℃, 35 ℃ lasting for 0, 2, 4 hours) on longevity and fecundity of diamondback moth(DBM), Plutella xylostella(L.) were studied in field. The results showed that there was a little impact of hot stress at different duration with different temperature on daily oviposition of DBM. Effects of hot stress at 30℃ for short duration on longevity, oviposition days and total fecundity were not significant, while quantity of eggs produced by the stressed adults reduced at 35℃ with duration increase on the first fecundity day. And there was a significant effect of hot stress with short duration on oviposition time distribution with reproduction compensation.
