The Cabinet of Edgar Allen Poe created by Angela Carter carries obvious characteristics of historiographic metafiction. Carter focuses on the marginal historical characters and events which are always conveniently ignored in the traditional historical novles. With the application of the self-reflexive narrative strategy, she successfully transmits her consistent feminist ideas and the pursuit of an open interpretation of history.
