The Book Collecting Process of Ouyang Xiu

欧阳修除了作为北宋历史上著名的股肱之臣、文坛宗师、金石学家,还是著名的藏书家。其一生藏书历程分为具有明显差异性的三个阶段:早年家贫藏书稀少,但却收获一部影响深远的韩愈文集;中年聚书最快,这主要得益于长期任职馆阁的经历和文坛盟主的地位;晚年藏书增长缓慢,精力转入营建藏书室六一堂以及编撰自己和友人的著作。

Apart from being a senior minister, a literary master and a specialist of epigraphy in the Song Dynasty, Ouyang Xiu was a famous bibliophile. His life＇ s book collecting process was divided into three periods. In his early years he had a few books because of poverty, but fortunately got a profound works of Han Yu ; In middle age, he had built up a large collection of books, which was mainly due to his long time professionac experience in Guange （State Library） and the status in the literary circle; in his later years, his book collecting process became slowly, and he shifted his focus on constructing his private library （ the Liuyi Hall） and compiling his own work and friends .
