该文论述了语法翻译法在科技英语教学中的可行性及其作用。指出了语法翻译法虽有其局限性 ,但也应当用辩证的观点客观地对其加以评价 ,不应全盘否定。语法翻译法 ,在现代英语教学中 ,尤其是在科技英语教学中 ,仍具有重要的作用。

The feasibility and functions of grammar-translation method in teaching scientific English are expounded in this article. And it is pointed out that grammar-translation method has its limitations, but its functions, which cannot be denied completely, should be evaluated dialectically and objectively. Grammar-translation method can still play an important role in the teaching of modern English, especially in the teaching of scientific English.
