Objective: To explore the Moderating effect of self-esteem on the relationship between peer victimization and children's problem behaviors. Methods: Multidimensional Peer-Victimization Scale, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and Child Behavior Checklist-Teacher Report Form were used to investigate 993 children. Results: ①Physical and relational victimization were both positively related with children's internal and external problem behaviors. ②Self-esteem moderated the relationship between physical victimization and children's internal problem behaviors, and also moderated the relationship between physical victimization and children's external problem behaviors. At the lower level of self-esteem, physical victimization was positively associated with children's internal and external problem behaviors, but such association was not significant at the higher level of self-esteem. ③Self-esteem moderated the relationship between relational victimization and children's internal problem behaviors. Relational victimization was positively associated with children's internal problem behaviors at the lower level of self-esteem, but such association was not significant at higher level of selfesteem. Conclusion: Children with high level of self-esteem had little problem behaviors when being victimized by peers.
