伴随着《中国-瑞士自由贸易协定》,以及中韩自贸区、中澳自贸区谈判的完成,中国的自由贸易区实践（FTA）实现了阶段性的新突破。国内、国外的新环境促成了这一时期中国FTA的新发展;中国立足周边,围绕亚太的自贸区战略愈加清晰和完善。
