小说《荒原问道》意义独特,题材容量大,是对当今知识分子主题的新开掘,也是今年长篇小说中最厚重的一部。作家徐兆寿将视野转向了更广阔的社会空间,从带有浓厚的性意识的情爱叙事转向沉重的精神叙事。小说延续和发展了80年代的"反思文学",不再局限于政治化叙事,而是将人性全面打开,以"荒原"为意象直面当代的精神问题,站在今天重新思考知识分子的命运,信仰、价值和精神追求,具有全民族的意义。

Being one of the most generous full-length novels this year in China as well as a new exploration of current intellectual subject, Huang Yuan Wen Dao has a unique meaning and a large capacity of theme. Xu Zhaoshou, the writer of this novel, turns his perspective to an even wider social space, and transfers his narrative from the one with strong sense of sex to an even heavier spiritual one. The novel, which has a national significance, continues and develops ＂reflecting novels＂ in 1980s, but it is not limited in political narratives and is to fully explore human nature, face up to current spiritual problems with the Wasteland as imagery, reflect the destiny, belief, values and spiritual seeking of modern intellectuals.
