国际化视野下的理工科本科新生英语综合素质调查

A Survey about Comprehensive Qualities of Freshmen Majoring in Engineering from the View of Internationalization

本研究通过测试和问卷调查的方法,从英语语言能力、文化意识、情感态度和交际策略等方面对普通院校理工科本科新生的综合素质进行了一次了解。研究结果发现大部分理工科本科新生具备一定基础的英语语言能力;具备了一定的文化意识、情感态度和学习策略。但是,研究表明我们非常缺乏语言运用能力很强,同时在文化意识、情感态度和学习策略方面表现突出的综合素质很高的理工科人才。在培养国际化的创新型人才过程中,大学英语教学面临着艰巨的任务。

We have done a research about the comprehensive qualities of freshmen majoring in engineering by test and questionnaire in order to know their abilities in using English, culture awareness,emotion and attitude, and communicative strategies. The results show that most of them have got the abilities in using English, and have a certain cultural awareness, emotion and attitude,and can use learning strategies. However, the results also prove that we lack of high-level engineering talents, who can use English quite well and have excellent abilities in co-operation and communication. College English Teaching is still facing a big challenge so as to adapt to the situation of cultivating international creative talents.
