Design and production practice of 500 kt/a gas sulphuric acid and desulphurization plant in Heding Copper Ltd. are described. The process, main equipment and performance indicators are described in detail. It is shown that the conversion rate of SO2 is more than 99. 86% and the absorption rate is more than 99. 99%. All the waste acid and waste water were recycled after treatment to meet the discharge standards. Acid exhaust and the ventilation gas were sent for desulphurization and then discharged to the atmosphere after meeting the standards. The system is now running in good condition.
