摘要
汉语"跑"(V跑+O)和英语"run"(Vrun+O)的认知基础相似,具有可比性。汉语"V跑+O"语义配置格式的出现频率远远高于英语"Vrun+O"语义配置格式,且语义关系复杂。当转换为英语时,不仅涵盖英语语义配置格式语义之所指,也涵盖"run"之外的所有"跑"义动词,部分词义还投射到移动域之外。从语义认知和翻译的角度来看,汉英"跑"义动词之间既有相同之处,也有不同之处。在英汉翻译中,应注重两种语言词语的生成理据、应用之道和转换策略。
Abstract： The Chinese pao （run） （Vpao＋ O） and the English run （Vrun＋O） are comparable as they share the same cognitive base. The Chinese ＂Vpao＋ O＂ structure is more frequently used in the Chinese language than its English counterpart in the English language. When rendered into English, it covers not only all those included in the English ＂Vrun ＋ O＂ structure, but also all the run words. Furthermore, some are even projected beyond the domain of motion. This article, based on cognition and translation, analyzes their similarities and differences, motivations for generations, applications, and strategies from Chinese into English.
