陌生化理论关照下葛浩文的翻译思想探究——以译作《生死疲劳》为例

A Study of Goldblatt's Translation Thoughts under the Theory of Defamiliarization——Taking Life and Death are Wearing Me out

"陌生化"是小说家运用于文学创作的常用手段,在文学作品的翻译中译者为了使译文更好地传达原文的思想和精神、增强译文的艺术美感和表现力,也经常在翻译过程中采用各种翻译策略再现原著作者的"陌生化"手法。在原著陌生化文学特质的保留方面,美国著名翻译家葛浩文堪称典范,在其译作《生死疲劳》中葛浩文成功地再现了原著作者莫言"陌生化"的创作理念,最大限度地保留了原作的文化特质,使目标语读者透过语言层面更进一步地感受到了"原汁原味"的中国异域文化风情。葛浩文成功地实现了保持原著精神实质和译文可读性之间的平衡,其翻译思想对中国本土文学译者具有重要借鉴意义,为中国文化走出去培养更多的翻译人才提供必要的启示。

＂Defamiliarization＂ is the common means of novelists in their literary creation. In order to convey the origi- nal thought and spirit and strengthen aestheticism and expressionism, translators often adopt various translation strate- gies to reproduce the original author＇s ＂defamiliarization＂ technique during the process of literary translation. In the res- ervation of defamiliarization characteristics of the original works, American famous translator Goldblatt is a typical exam- ple. In Life and Death are Wearing Me out, Goldblatt successfully reproduced the creative ideas of ＂Defamiliarization＂ of the original author Mo Yah, reserved the cultural characteristics of the original, making the readers feel the authentic Chi- nese culture and customs. Goldblatt suc＇cessfully achieved the balance between keeping the cultural essence of the original and the readability of the translated works. His translation thoughts have important significance to native Chinese literary translators and provide enlightenment for cultivating more translators for Chinese culture to spread throughout the whole world.
