In the performance of Nuo opera, mask is the most important and typical play prop and is also an important means of image creation as well as a distinct characteristic different from other operas. The Nuo mask of Zhaotong is a u- nique component of various Nuo masks seen in Nuo operas. The study of Nuo mask could help us have a better under- standing of the special Nuo culture.
