"Thick Translation"自提出以来,一直受到国内外翻译界学者的普遍关注。本文探究了该术语产生的渊源及其对翻译界产生的影响,梳理和归纳了国内外近20年来有关"Thick Translation"所做的一些前期研究,探讨了该术语在国内的翻译类型、前期研究特点,分析了其在国内外翻译研究中的最新成果和发展动向,以期为当代中国译学研究提供一些参考和启发。

＂Thick Translation＂ has been paid great attention to by researchers since its introduction into the translation field. The present paper explores the origin and impact of the term before giving a panoramic view of ＂Thick Translation＂ study over the past 20 years both at home and abroad, and tentatively points out its possible trends with a view to offering some enlightenment to contemporary translation studies in China.
