This article mainly focuses on the role and contribution of International court of Justice in imple- menting the UN human rights treaties. The article starts by introducing some background information about the Court＇ s gradually involving in human rights issues. Second, it provides a detailed examination of the case law related to human rights treaties, including both the general international law issues and the specific provisions of the treaty. This provokes some reflections on the effects of the human rights issues on the Court＇ s jurispru- dence and the relationship between the Court and the UN human rights bodies and domestic courts.
