＂优秀传统文化凝聚着中华民族自强不息的精神追求和历久弥新的精神财富,是发展社会主义先进文化的深厚基础,是建设中华民族共有精神家园的重要支撑。＂有着数千年历史脉络的历史名城——宁波,更是拥有独特的海洋文化背景,这些厚重的历史沉淀无疑是宁波城市的灵魂和精神。尤其今天,在建设＂新丝绸之路经济带＂和＂21世纪海上丝绸之路＂战略构想的框架之下,源于海洋的精神传承显得尤为重要。
Ningbo, one of the oldest cities dating back to the Hemudu culture in 4800 BC, has rich marine culture in history. Along with the progress of science and technology and the fast economic growth, Ningbo's marine culture has new development in this modern time. Port development, international trade, and marine industries have been the sources and momentum of Ningbo's economic growth during the past years. Now, the 'One Belt and One Road' initiatives has been officially approved and promoted as the development strategies by the Chinese central government. Ningbo should take this opportunity to develop its marine economy and improve the status of Ningbo port in the world. Furthermore, in this new age, more emphasis should be given to raise people's awareness of the sustainable development of ocean.
