The prevalence, harmfulness and difficulty in management of cyberloafing have aroused the attention of business people and scholars from both at home and abroad. Using employees in Chinese state-owned, private and foreign-owned enterprises as samples, this study explores factors that influence cyberloafing and the differences of these influencing factors between ordinary employees and middle, senior managers. This study gathers 553 valid questionnaires by way of issuance of electronic questionnaires and tests hypothesis with the hierarchical regression analysis. The result shows that influencing factors of cyberloafing for Chinese employees include rationalization propensity, seeking personal satisfaction and the imperfection of relevant rules. It is easier for middle and senior managers to seek personal satisfaction in cyberloafing than ordinary employees. These conclusions would provide implications for corporations to classify employees and manage cyberloafing.
