摘要
杜威是胡适在美国哥伦比亚大学学习时的恩师,杜威的实用主义成为胡适一生从事思想学术研究的基本思想,特别是胡适促成杜威的中国之行并为之亲自做翻译,使杜威的实用主义及其科学方法得以在中国思想学术界产生了较大的影响。
Mr. Dewey was HU Shi＇ s teacher when HU was learning in Columbia University in the city of New York and Mr. Dewey＇ s pragmatism became HU＇ s basic theoretic cornerstone in his academic life. HU urged Mr. Dewey to visit China and acted as Dewey＇ s interpreter, thus making Dewey＇ s pragmatism and his scientific studying methods expand a great influence in the Chinese academic circle.
