1953年起,图书馆事业进入"整顿巩固、重点发展、提高质量、稳步前进"阶段。在巩固前一阶段成绩的基础上,进一步深化图书流通与借阅,大力开展图书调剂与工作竞赛,通过大量的讲座、报告会、展览会等形式积极宣传图书,加强图书征集与目录索引编制,十分重视人才的培养。苏联图书馆专家的指导也有力促进了当时图书馆事业的发展。通过贯彻全国图书馆工作会议精神,加快了为科学研究服务的步伐。召开了全国性的科学研讨会,图书馆学的出版物加快发展,图书馆学研究正在步入一个新的历史时期。

Since 1953, the librarianship was in the stage of reorganizing, consolidating, prioritizing, improving quality and advancing steadily which was based on the achievements of the former stage, libraries further deepened the book circulating and reading, vigorous- ly carried out redistribution of the books and working contest, publicized books actively by holding a large number of lectures, seminars and exhibitions, strengthened collecting books and edited bibliography and index, and attached great importance to train talents. The guidance from the Soviet Union libraries experts also promoted effectively the development of librarianship at that time. Through imple- menting the spirits of the meeting of national librarianship, the pace of serving for scientific research had been accelerated. The meeting of the national library science seminar was held, the development of the publication was accelerated and the study of library science en- tered a peak period. 42 refs.
