Research of Book Design Art from the Perspective of Covers of a Dream of Red Mansions

通过对古典文学名著《红楼梦》不同版本封面设计的研究,探讨形式符合内容、图形和色彩具有不可代替性、简洁性、含蓄性、印刷材料和印刷方式要具适合性等封面设计规律。

This paper draws some design rules by researching different cover design of classical literary masterpiece A Dream of Red Mansions. Firstly, form should conform to content. Secondly, graphics and color can＇t be replaced. Thirdly, cover design should be concise and implicit. Besides, the printed material and the printing way should be suitable for the book.
