The Comparison between Chinese and American Modern Prison Cells

监舍建筑因涉及罪犯的居住问题而成为整个监狱建筑设计的核心。我国监舍建设尚存在刑罚理念模糊,管理繁复,人性化、灵活性、安全性缺失等问题。以美国中等警戒度监狱监舍和我国普通监狱监舍为研究对象,在监管理念、依据标准、主要建设内容等几方面对其进行分析比较,以期通过借鉴国外先进做法提升我国监狱建设水平。

The design of prison cell is a core problem to inmates. This article investigates Chinese prisons and American medium-security prisons by way of comparison through such aspects as regulation concepts, design standards, and main contents. It finds that Chinese punishment concepts are not clear, the theoretical research of prison architecture lies fairly far behind, the humanity, flexibility, security of prison cells are low, and the ease of management should be improved.
