Analysis of Hugo's Religion View from the Priests' Images in His Works

雨果作品中有三个突出的神父形象,分别是《巴黎圣母院》中的主教代理克洛德、《悲惨世界》中的主教卞福汝、《九三年》中的神父西穆尔登。这三个神父形象体现了雨果复杂的宗教观,既对人道主义情怀的基督教信仰坚定不移,又对扭曲人性、祸害社会的教会和修院制度进行了批判。

There are three prominent images of priest in Hugo ’s works： Claude Frolic in Notre-Dame de Paris （The Hunchback of Norie Dame）, Bishop Myriel in Les Miserables, Cimourdain in Quatre-Vngt-Treize （Ninety-three） These three significant priests’images embody the complex religion view of Hugo. As a Humanistic person who has the characteristics of the Romanticism style, Hugo ’s Christian faith is relevant to his Humanism pursuit. And his religion view is that of duality-stand firm on his Humanistic Christian faith, meanwhile, criticize the church and monasticism that distort human nature and cause damage to society.
