Toexploreclinicalcharacteristics ,CT manifestationandoperativeindicationsoftraumatic extraduralhematomainthemiddlecranialfossabase (EHMCFB) . Methods: Atotalof 14caseswithtraumatic EHMCFBfromJanuary 1997toMay 2 0 0 0were retrospectivelyanalyzed . Results : Of 14cases ,12cases (85 .7% )maintained formchangeofcisternaambiensforbeingpressed ;11cases whoreceivedoperationswereallcured ;3received conservativetherapy ,ofwhom 2becamebetterand 1died . Conclusions: IntraumaticEHMCFB ,theform changeofcisternaambiensoccurseasily .Therefore ,if thereappearsprogressivelyaggravatedformchangeof cisternaambiensafterthecisternaambiensbeingpressed , anearlyandactiveoperationisnecessaryandcrucial.
