摘要
《新视野大学英语读写教程》(第二版)在内容上很好地体现了跨文化交际的几个重要组成部分,即价值观、文化背景、非语言过程以及社会行为准则等,有助于培养学生的跨文化交际能力。但该教材在跨文化交际方面也存在着的一些缺点和不足,如选材上过多倾向于美国文化,文化内容的编排有所欠缺以及某些文章主题和难易度设置不够完善。因此,教师在教学过程中可以有针对性地增加其他区域的文化素材,增加跨文化交际能力培养的教学任务,补充某些单元的文化缺失,以便切实提高跨文化交际的教学效果。
New Horizon College English Reading and Writing (Second Edition), in content, well embod- ies some important components of cross--cultural communication, namely, outlook on values, cultural back- grounds, nonverbal process, codes of social conduct, etc., which help to develop students' competence of cross --cultural communication. But there also exist some shortcomings and insufficiencies in the teaching materials in the aspect of cross--cultural communication, such as the obvious tendency of American culture reflected in the materials, insufficient arrangements of cultural contents, and imperfect setting up of essay themes and difficulty levels. Therefore, in the teaching process, teachers can supplement cultural materials from other regions, add teaching tasks which aim to improve students' cross--cultural communication ability, and compensate for a lack of culture deficiencies in certain units, for the sake of enhancing the effect of teaching cross--cultural communication.
