摘要
该文论述了日语中的一个突出语言现象———模糊表现。模糊表现主要通过推量、否定、被动、传闻等形式构成。模糊表现源于日本人的语言心理 ,他们不喜欢简单、清晰、直接和肯定的表达方式 ,喜欢给对方和自己都留下回旋的余地。
This paper discusses a prominent feature of Japanese speech--ambiguity. The author describes the major types of ambiguous expression in Japanese and points out the psychological source, namely, Japanese speakers prefer to avoid direct, definite, and distinct expressions so that they will leave it open and give themselves freedom for further action or correction.
