摘要
禅宗在语言、文字之外,另辟蹊径,以非言语的方式接引学人,画圆相正是其手段之一。纵观禅师以圆相示机的公案,中、晚唐时期洪州禅系及嗣法的沩仰宗重圆相之相。五代时期曹洞与法眼二宗对圆相进行文字义解,将其转变为图形文字。到宋代,禅法思想无甚新变,"文字禅"的兴起直接让非言语交际的禅教手段失去其存在价值。"圆相"与禅宗其它的非言语交际手段一起,隐匿在禅宗史籍的话语之间,成为供后人揣摩品味的圆相文字。

From the middle and the late Tang Dynasty, drawing circle is code in Hongzhou Chan and Wei Yang Chan. In the Five Dynasties, drawing circle is graPhic text in Cao Dong Chanand Fa Yan Chan. Until Song Dynasty, "the rise of literal Zen" directly to the nonverbal communication to Zen way to lose its value of existence."Circle" and the Zen other nonverbal means together, hidden in between Zen records of the discourse.
