Historical Description and Value Revealed:Two Dimensions of the Research of Chinese Ancient Library Science Thought History

图书馆学史以历史上具体存在的图书馆为对象,而图书馆学思想史致力于反思对象背后的思想观念和精神旨趣。研究中国古代图书馆学思想史,既要从史实描述的角度客观地揭示历史上的主要图书馆学思想的内容、特点及其演变规律;又要从价值揭示的角度分析"过去"的思想对"当代"图书馆理论与实践的现实意义,从而将"死了"的思想传统转变为"活着"的智慧资源。

The object of study of the library thought history is the ideology and spiritual purport behind the study object of the history of library science, which is the specific existing libraries in the history. Then, the research of Chinese ancient li- brary science thought history should be conducted on two lines：revealing the main contents, characteristics and evolution law of the library science thought from the perspective of historical description, and analyzing the practical significance of ＂the past＂ thought to ＂the contemporary＂ library from the perspective of value revealing. On the basis, the dead ideological tradi- tion can change to ＂living＂ wisdom resources.
