社会主义是世界历史性的伟大事业,并且正在以民族和国家的形式不断得到实现。所以,在全球化进程日益加快的今天,在强调社会主义世界历史性的同时,还必须强调社会主义的民族性特征。实际上,正是社会主义的世界历史性与民族性的矛盾,直接影响社会主义的发展道路和前进方向。这就要求我们在社会主义的实践以及对于社会主义的认识和思考中,必须立足民族现实,放眼世界历史。

Socialism is a great course with world historic sense, and it is coming true constantly in the forms of nation and state. With the development of globalization, we should stress on the world historic feature of socialism. At the same time we must place emphasize on the national characteristic of socialism. In fact, it is the contradiction between the world historic feature and the national feature that affects the road of development and the orientation of advancement of socialism directly. This demands us base ourselves on the reality of nation and have the whole world history in view in the thought and practice of socialism.
