In today＇s era of reading, illustration gradually replaces words become a new language to convey information, not only does it bring to people＇s visual sense strong artistic feeling, also bring great change to people＇s life. This paper analyzes the definition of illustration and the illustration of the specific characteristics, and then discusses the close ties between illustration and graphic design. And finally this paper introduces the specific application of illustration on the books, posters and packaging design.
