The butterfly is a type of imagery commonly used in poetry to express the themes which are free, leisured,newborn love,beautiful and sentimental.This paper explores the imagery of butterfly in classical poetry,and tries to understand the poets＇unique views about the world and their overall literary experience in specific times.
