Extensive Reading Is the Source of Advanced Reading Ability——Cultivation of English Reading Ability for Higher Vocational College Students

学生阅读理解能力的培养是高职高专外语教学中极其重要的一个部分。要想快速提高学生的阅读能力,除了掌握阅读技巧外,还需要不断增加阅读量。达不到足够的阅读量是制约阅读能力提升的根本因素。阅读量不够容易造成缺乏语感,缺乏文化背景,不适应语言风格等弊端,因此,本文探讨了一些培养学生广泛阅读的方法。

Cultivating students’reading ability is one of the most important tasks in English teaching in vocational college. In or-der to improve students’reading ability, more reading practice as well as reading skills is necessary for them. The amount of read-ing is vital for improving reading ability. The lack of reading practice can result in the lack of the sense of language, having little knowledge of cultural background and not getting accustomed to the stylistic feature. This paper gives some advice on how to help students read extensively and efficiently.
