Drawing on sociological and cognitive strands of narrative theory, Baker＇s narrative theory enables scholars to look beyond comparison between the ST and the TT and the notion of translation equivalence. This paper gives a detailed introduction to the development of the narrative theory, points out potential challenges of applying its analytical tools, and discusses the new interfaces between narrative theory and translation studies in the future.
