Interpretation of the Civil Morality Views in O·Henry's Short Stories

欧·亨利不仅是世界短篇小说三大巨匠之一,而且还是一个人道主义者,他的一些短篇小说融入了人文关怀和公民道德意识。道德是构建和谐社会的重要基石,选取三篇欧·亨利短篇小说,从家庭美德、职业道德、社会公德三方面来解读他的公民道德观,旨在挖掘其短篇小说对公民道德建设的借鉴价值。

O·Henry is not only one of the world＇ s three great masters in short stories fields but also a humanist, and some of his short stories contain humanistic care and civil morality awareness. Morality is an important foundation for the construction of a harmonious society, so this paper selects three O·Henry＇ s short stories to interpret his views of civil morality from the aspects of social morality, occupation ethics and the family virtues. The purpose of the study is to find out the values for the construction of civ- il morality.
