Identifying Mao Zedong's Mistakes Concerning Several Intellectual-related Issues in His Later Years

毛泽东在晚年时期,由于“左”的思想的指导,在对知识分子的认识和政策上犯了“左”的错误,提出了一些“左”的口号和要求。尽管我们实际已经改正了对知识分子的错误认识和错误政策,但“左”的年代的有些口号、提法在人们的心中还是似是而非的,对这些问题的认识应予以澄清、辨正。

In his later years, Mao Zedong, influenced by the 'leftist ideology, committed some mistakes concerning the understanding of and policy towards intellectuals by raising some ' leftist' slogans and requirements. Though the misunderstandings and wrong policies have been corrected, some remnants of the slogans and theories raised during the 'leftist' period still remain and therefore must be identified and removed from people' s mind.
