摘要
《西域的健儿》是爱尔兰著名剧作家约翰·辛格的重要作品,20世纪20年代曾由郭沫若译成中文,但从未正式在中国公演。2006年该剧经过改编后以《西方世界的花花公子》为名首次登上中国舞台,成为跨文化戏剧改编的又一实例。该剧的中国版在情节、人物、语言以及文化历史各方面对原剧进行了移植、置换与消解,反映出当代文化语境下跨文化戏剧改编的跨文化交流意义,也存在一些值得反思的问题。
"The Playboy of the Western World" is one of the most important works of John Synge which was translated into Chinese by Guo Moruo in 1920s, never being premiered in China. In 2006, it made its debut at China's stage as an example of cross-cultural adaptation. The original plot, characters, language, history and culture in the drama were transplanted, replaced and dissolved in its Chinese version, reflecting the significance of intercultural communication about cross-cultural theatrical adaptation under the context of contemporary culture, also existing valuable problems to be considered.
