摘要
《天使之门》的故事空间并不仅仅是事件在时间中展现时的背景或地点,也不是被动的、静止的,它是叙事产生的动力。小说中的"门"划立了人物的身份边界,这个边界最终被一次次越过。越过边界的运动构成了情节发展的活跃动力,从而使故事空间具有了结构的功能。同时,"天使之门"反映了特定时代的特定历史,主人公黛茜的"越界"使得"门"所划立的专属男性空间的排"她"性消失,作品积极的、具有包容性和建设性的女性主义主题借此得以巧妙阐发。
The story space in The Gate of Angels is not just the background upon which events unfold in time, neither is it passive or static' rather, it is a generative force for narrative. "The gate" in the novel established borders for the identities of the characters, which, nonetheless, were eventually crossed. The movement of border crossing constitutes the kinetic drive of the plot, which fulfilled the structural function of the story space. Meanwhile, The Gate of Angels reflected a specific history of the particular period of time during which the heroine Daisy's "border crossing" marked the end of the boundaries and female exclusiveness of men's space, thus the positive, inclusive and constructive feminist idea is ingeniously elucidated.
