《圣旨看念藏经之记》记载了元英宗派遣钦差大臣至大明禅院,命僧众诵念佛经,为国祈福。此碑揭示了深受藏传佛教影响的英·宗皇帝,登基后开展佛事活动为太皇太后祈福祝寿,佛教活动成为缓和二人关系的借力,此碑不仅为研究大明寺佛教历史提供了重要资料,同时折射了大明寺与元朝皇室有着非同一般的联系。

The Inscription of Imperial Edict For Chanting Buddhist Scriptures recorded an event happened in Yuan dynasty that the Emperor Yingzong dispatched the imperial commissioner to Daming Temple and ordered the monks reciting the Buddhist Scriptures and praying for the country. It showed the fact that the emperor was greatly influenced by the Tibetan Buddhism. He carried out Buddhist activities for blessing the grandma - empress after ascending the throne and the activities, which was to ease the relation with his mother. Obviously, the inscription provides us with important information for researching the history of the Daming Temple with the Buddhism. At the same time, it also reflects a close relationship between the Darning Temple and the royal family.
