Yunnan in the “One-belt-one-road” Strategy: Advantages and Measures

云南省地处中国与东南亚及南亚的结合部,连接中国、东南亚和南亚三大经济圈,具有沟通太平洋、印度洋的特殊地缘区位优势,与周边国家在社会发展、经济贸易、民族交往、文化交流等方面有着良好的传统和基础。在国家提出建设"一带一路"战略构想的新形势下,云南应发挥其地缘区位、政策机制、传统友谊和经济贸易等方面的优势,加强与南亚、东南亚和周边国家的交流合作,积极在国家推进"一带一路"战略中发挥重要作用。

Located between China, the Southeast Asia and the South Asia, linking the three major e- conomic zones and two oceans, Yunnan enjoys great geographical advantages and, thus, its tradition and basis in terms of cooperation with the above mentioned regions in social development, economy, trade and cultural exchanges. Now, in China＇ s strive to accomplish the ＂One Belt and One Road＂ strategy, Yunnan should play an important role by using the above advantages to strengthen its ties with the surrounding countries and regions.
