玄奘是唐朝著名高僧,取经回国后多次请求回家乡少林寺翻译佛经,可惜这一美好愿望终未实现。玄奘选择回乡译经的原因主要有以下几个方面:河洛地区佛教的兴盛与浓浓的乡情令其魂牵梦绕;少林寺优越的自然环境和佛风的浸润为译经提供了必要条件;唐初统治者令其弃缁还俗则是直接原因。
