On the Development and Creation of the Film in the New Period

尽管人们似乎普遍都对新时期电影颇有微词 ,但对其稍作研究就会发现 ,新时期电影在革新电影语言、探索电影样式、追求导演的个性化风格和致力于表现手法的创新等方面都做出了卓有成效的工作 。

Although the films of the new period seem to have met with widespread disapproval, a brief survey indicates that they remarkably contribute to the improvement of the language of film, to the exploration of the model, to the directors′pursuit of individualization of style and their effort to innovate the techniques of expression, thus propelling the film of the new period to develop further.
