刘知几"疑古惑经"思想集中体现在对儒家经典《尚书》、《论语》、《春秋》等提出的怀疑与批驳中。他在强调直书实录、史学求真的同时,也注重儒家的纲常名教。"疑古惑经"思想对后世经史之学,尤其是唐代儒学、宋代辨伪学、清代乾嘉考据学和民国疑古思潮等,都产生了深远的影响。

Liu Zhi-ji’s “doubting ancient matter and suspecting classics”ideology is mainly embodied in the doubt and criticism to the Confucian classics Shangshu,Analects,Spring and Autumn Annals.He emphasizes factual records,but also pays attention to the Confucian tsunatsune and ethic.The “doubting ancient matter and suspecting classics”thought has had a pro-found impact on the classics and history science in later generations,especially the Confucianism in Tang Dynasty,the fake-dis-tinguishing study in Song Dynasty,Qian jia textual research in Qing Dynasty,historical skepticism in Republic of China,etc.
