意识形态观照下的译者素养——基于译介学的郭士立翻译活动初探

Translators' making as viewed from ideology in translation: A case study of Gützlaff

对晚清德籍传教士郭士立个人翻译活动进行梳理,从译介学的角度指出"主耀中华"的意识形态是推动郭士立翻译活动的关键力量。以史鉴今,郭士立在翻译活动中种种不当行为表明,在译者素养的形成中,意识形态对译者能力和职业道德可能产生的负面影响不容小觑。

By combing the translation activities of Gutzlaff,a German missionary introducing Christi-anity to China in late Qing （Tsing）dynasty,it is maintained that the translation attempts of Gutzlaff were conducted under the control of ideology via the idea of “God glorifies across China”.However, his purposeful misconducts in translation has warned us that in the training of translators,the possi-ble negative effect of ideology on the competence and professional ethics of a translator should never be underestimated.
